Over a full day session, participants will collectively create an original printing guide, compiling their own samples and experiments, using essential Risography techniques in both analog and digital forms. This is an immersive session that investigates techniques and terminologies further than our usual Beginners Workshop.
Together, we will create a personalised printing guide and sample swatch, compiling the group’s experiments and works. With a teaching approach that celebrates playfulness and imperfection, you'll learn (almost) everything about Risograph printing and leave ready to embark on future projects with confidence.
The Riso is not just a printer; it's a central tool in the history of independent publishing and printing. We'll use this symbol of democracy to transform design into a collaborative process, understanding the imperfections and limitations of this process as unique qualities. It's not just about mastering a new technique: it's about exploring every aspect of this tool!
This workshop is ideal for illustrators, designers, students, self publishers and Risography enthusiasts who are full of print project ideas but are hesitant to start. It's also for those who are already fans but want to push the boundaries and rethink the artistic process by experimenting with a method that is 100% immersed in Risograph printing, plus an experienced technician at hand.
