Kaigyo by Nanami Takeuchi is inspired by the famous Japanese folktale Urashima-taro (The Fisher Lad) and an insatiable need to draw the bizarre and mysterious Kaigyo (Strange Fish) from Japanese folklore and nature.

The word Kaigyo is made up of the kanji for spectre; apparition; mystery; suspicious and fish
